RE: filmscanners: Microtek ArtixScan 4000T - fault
I don't know if this pertains, but I purchased a Polaroid SS4000 last
summer. Wonderful machine! I understand that the SS4000 mechanism is
about the same as an ArtixScan 4000T.
Initially, I had scanning problems similar to those you describe (mine
would about at the fourth slide). When PRD replaced the Slide Holder,
under warranty, my problems went away!
BTW I had no problems with the negative holder.
I would suggest you ask Microtek for a new slide holder to see if that
works.
Good luck,
John

Subject: filmscanners: Microtek ArtixScan 4000T - fault
Hi there all
I purchased a Microtek ArtixScan 4000T in April 2001. I've only started
using
it seriously over the past week. A fault has occured when scanning
slides.
Prescan goes ok then when i set it to do the hi-res scans I get a "Code:
-710, APS holder bump error. Missaligned" (under Windows 98SE using
Microtek
ScanWizard Pro TX) which then aborts the scanning. It usually happens
around
the 3rd slide. On the scans that i do get, the positioning is incorrect
with
a black line down the left and a bit missing off the right even though
it was
ok in preview.
Microtek told me to send it back to them. Anyone else experienced this
problem? Any quick fixes?!
BTW i can't find the web address for the archive anywhere
Many thanks
Tony
