For the resolution you suggest you need (screen or monitor resolution
for email and cyberspace (I assume you mean web pages and the like) and
the duty cycle you state (about 10 images a month) the scanner you
indicate below will be more than adequate. It uses a fast SCSI
interface, which your system should support, your system should provide
the necessary resources, as well. You might find the software that
comes with the scanner wanting, in which case you may wish to consider
Ed Hamrick's Vuescan fro $40 US (a downloadable test version is
available via his website).
I will mention that both Kodachrome and true B&W films have dense darker
areas, so shadow noise is a potential problem with any 35mm scanner, and
one to watch for on the 2710.
