filmscanners: VueScan 7.3.6 files default location

Is there any way to set Vuescan to ^always^ save the options file to the
Vuescan (or a specific) directory ... rather like the 'vuescan.dat' file???
I work with Vuescan my own way of course, but don't we all separate Vs
settings from our image file locations??
