See my earlier post containing actual (gasp!) measurements taken on said
sunny day. Quick summary: deep shadows: 9 to 9.5 EV as compared to sunlit
concrete driveway at 16.5 EV. Shadow measurement was about the same whether
the shadow contained grass, wet (hence, dark) dirt, or tree trunks.
