Your desires and wishes are those of us all and serve as the ideal goal; but
they may not be perfectly accomplishable practically speaking. Moreover,
you sound like you are a finicky sort who is more demanding than the average
bear; thus, what is accomplishable and satisfactory may be dependent on ones
aesthetic preverences and tolerence levels as well as one's preverences with
respect to what is deemed as meeting the demands of equivalancy. A number
of people find that chromogenic black and white film based images processed
in C-41 and printed on color photographic paper are acceptible and equal to
the traditional silver halide black and white film based prints in quality
and look; I don't. I also do not expect that a perfect equivalance between
the two will ever come about. Similarly, the same can be said regarding the
digital printing of black and white images using inkjet printers versus
traditional wet process printing. Objectively, I am not sure that one can
say one is better than the other; but one is left saying that they are
different from one another.
